Questioning Everday Life.

Men in the Workplace.

I’ve been having some trouble coping with being the only girl at the front desk (for the most part) here at the IRT in Korman.

I didn’t really expect this, I only thought I’d be adored and loved by all the desperate, nerdy guys, per usual.

Well, that’s still the case.  But there’s something different going on — involving those who I consider to be boys as opposed to men.

Examples:

One new co-op works here with me.  I’m guessing he’s 19.  Every day he walks in he greets the male that works here.  I don’t get a greeting.  Is he scared of me or . . .  what?  If I was a fellow “bro” I’d get greeted!

A “customer” comes in.  Stares at me for a good ten seconds.  Asks if I can help him.  Yes, duh, I pretty much say.  Then he hands his computer to a male coworker.

Everyone’s talking about something involving computers.  I know exactly what they’re talking about.  But I am not addressed in the conversation at all because I am a girl.

“Hey _____, do you know how to do this?”  _____ is a male worker.  ”Do you know how to find the thingamajig, _____?”  WTF.  You could ask me.  I’m sitting next to you and I know the answer.

You get it.  Sucks.  I could be a bitch and stand up to it, but then I’m a bitch.  I’m going to have to start wearing a female symbol flag on the side of my arm and combat boots.  FEM NAZI!

Led Zeppelin Tix.

May cost a few hundred.  But eh.  You know.

Well, a few hundred WITH Robert Plant.

Led Zep tour promoter dismisses tour

Former Led Zeppelin tour promoter Harvey Goldsmith has called the band’s intention to tour without frontman Robert Plant as pointless.

“I certainly don’t think they should do a big tour because I can’t see the point of it. I just think it’s a lot of talk, I think it’s wishful thinking,” Goldsmith said of the tour.

Goldsmith also said that if the tour does go ahead, the band is likely to use a different name, and not Led Zeppelin.

God help us all.
